Debate on Macedonia's contribution to global security and world peace

Finland supports EU involvement in name row settlement

Finland supports the European Union enlargement process and Macedonia's accession talks date, as well as the idea of increased Union involvement in the settlement of the Macedonia-Greece name dispute, said Finnish Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb after Tuesday's meeting with Macedonian counterpart Antonio Milososki.

102 social apartments in Gjorce Petrov municipality put into use

Stavreski: Minimal rise of public and state debt, good result for Macedonia

Macedonia's state debt in 2009 amounted to EUR 1,6 billion, whereas the average interest rate was 2.6 percent, said Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski at Monday's press conference.
First 500 pensioners leave for spa treatment on February 6th

The first group of about 500 pensioners out of the projected 10,000 in 2010 will leave for spa treatment in four centers throughout Macedonia on February 6, said Minister of Labor and Social Policy Xhelal Bajrami after Monday's signing of agreements with spa managers.
FinMin presents law package for business climate improvement

The Government has developed eight reform laws in the finance sector, which have been submitted for Parliament review. These include amendments to the laws on securities, customs tariff, Customs Administration, Customs Rulebook, execution of services for swift money transfer, prevention of money laundering and financing of terrorism, as well as adoption of a new law on state audit and law on the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA).

A visit of Matthew Nimetz to Skopje and Athens in late February or early March is a good opportunity for Macedonia and Greece to once again elaborate their positions on the name issue, as well as to stimulate the UN mediator to boost his engagement towards hopeful progress, Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki and Greek Alternate Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas agreed Thursday at their first bilateral meeting in London.
