Minister of Culture Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska met Monday with the Swedish counterpart Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth during her day-long official visit to the Kingdom of Sweden.

The meeting was also attended by Macedonian ambassador to Sweden, Kire Ilievski, the ministry said in a press release.

Both ministers discussed ongoing cultural cooperation and future activities aimed at boosting countries' cultural ties.

Minister Kanceska-Milevska put forward concrete proposals, such as organising of Days of Macedonian Culture in Sweden in 2012 and opening of a Macedonian cultural center in Sweden.

The two ministers also discussed an opportunity for launching a cooperation program between the ministries in an attempt to pave the way for cooperation between institutions and individuals from Macedonia and Sweden.

During her visit to Stockholm, Kanceska-Milevska also held several working meetings with heads of cultural institutions.
