PM Gruevski meets former EP rapporteur for Macedonia Howitt

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and former EP rapporteur for Macedonia Richard Howitt expressed satisfaction Wednesday in Skopje with the cooperation thus far, as well as readiness for resuming the communication on matters of mutual interest.

Gruevski thanked Howitt on his engagement in and contribution to the implementation of reforms and Macedonia's progress on the road to the European Union.

He also praised the regular EP support of Macedonia's efforts to meet the European standards.

The Government remains committed to turning Macedonia's strategic goals - the EU, NATO membership - into reality, Gruevski told Howitt.

Howitt said he would continue to support Macedonia's efforts to meet the European and Euro-Atlantic standards.

Gruevski and Howitt also addressed the Macedonian Government's action plan for future reforms, set up in line with the recommendations of the European Commission.
