US investors interested to invest in Macedonia

ICT and film industry companies in Los Angeles showed interest in Macedonia’s investment opportunities. They consider that the companies can be satisfied with conditions for doing business in Macedonia and in the next three months representatives of Alorica, company for outsourcing and consulting services will visit the country to make detailed analyses regarding the business conditions.

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski at the business forum in Los Angeles recommended the present guests that the government is friendly oriented towards the business and development of opportunities offered to private investors.

We believe that the more we nurture business, the more we support citizens, because the business creates jobs and improves living conditions in our country, Gruevski said.

Aside from favorable conditions and alleviations provided to investors the government also makes progress in fight against corruption and its reduction.

He underlined that the government is focused in investment and development of education in all phases starting from primary, secondary and higher education.

We have made many changes, English language in the first grade is introduced, secondary schools are free of charge, new universities and faculties are opened, and we have cooperation with Cambridge in relation to subject studied in primary and secondary education. We also invest in quality of education, translating more than 1.000 books used at top 10 universities in the world as well as we have opened new laboratories and provided equipment. Good education is good capital which should be used by the companies, Gruevski said.

He invited present investors to come to Macedonia. All those who want to open business or to open new capacity prior making decision to come to Macedonia, they should firstly speak to investors who already invested in Macedonia to assure about the favorable conditions for investments, Gruevski said.

Minister for Attracting Foreign Investors Bill Pavleski underlined the favorable conditions offered to investors, emphasizing that the companies are making analyses for the potential investments in our country.

Today, we are presenting favorable investment conditions before companies from information technology industry and film production. They showed interest about Macedonia’s investment opportunities, favorable tax policy, well-educated staff in the country and other opportunities for doing business, Pavleski said.

Alorica CEO Andy Lee actively reviews investment opportunities and is in process of planning for concrete cooperation.

The company operates in many countries in the world and what they have heard at the business forum one can be satisfied with conditions for doing business in Macedonia.

Macedonia has highly-educated workforce and is committed to attract investors and has government that supports the business which from my perspective it has everything we need to be successful, and we look forward to come and to learn more. We are to visit Macedonia in the next three months in order to make detailed analyses in order to start business in the country, Lee said.

David Hunter, owner of Innovaworks company engaged in software solutions which opened representative office in Macedonia several years ago, is satisfied with the supported he received.

My plan in Macedonia is to expand to work with bigger companies and to use trained workforces from several spheres, Hunter said.

Los Angeles, where government delegation led by PM Gruevski held business forum, is the second largest urban area in the US and is also a major hub of shipping, manufacturing, industry, and finance, and is world-renowned in the entertainment and communications fields.
