Cornerstone of new Vodovod i kanalizacija administrative building

Public enterprise "Vodovod i kanalizacija" (Water Supply and Sewerage) laid the cornerstone Sunday of a new administrative building on the site of the old offices at the foot of the Skopje fortress.

The public enterprise is investing Denar 610 million (EUR 10 million) in the building, due to be constructed in three years.

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, Skopje Mayor Koce Trajanovski and enterprise acting manager Toni Jarevski attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

"Finally, the old barracks will be replaced with a new and modern building offering proper conditions for employees and improved service for citizens", said PM Gruevski.

According to him, the new building would entirely fit in the new image of Skopje and be part of the mosaic of new structures in the capital.

"This event is a proof that projects can be implemented through mutual support and cooperation among local self-government units, public enterprises and state institutions", stressed Gruevski.

The five-storey building will also have a three-level underground parking lot.
