Ministry of Agriculture announces measures to help future agricultural cooperatives


Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Ljupco Dimovski and his deputy Zoran Konjanovski Sunday met farmers of Strumica region within Open Days project of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management.


Our primary goal within this campaign is to talk with farmers and together to discuss problems and to resolve them, Dimovski said.


He announced that in the frames of Open Days, which will be held in several regions through direct contacts they will promote strategies for establishment of agricultural cooperatives and rural development as well as strengthening of Macedonian farmer and village. Also package of measures for assistance and support to future agricultural cooperatives will follow.


Bringing the farmers together in agricultural cooperatives is an important project in the strategy for development of the Macedonian agriculture. Besides technical and organisational assistance, we also foresee larger subsidies for future merged farmers, exemption from paying water, assistance in purchase of new agricultural mechanisation, Dimovski said.


A panel discussion within Open Days project will be held Sunday evening in Sushica village, Novo Selo municipality, where minister Dimovski will meet farmers.
