Small hydro-power plant built in Mavrovo-Rostuse municipality

A small hydro-power plant has been constructed on Tresonecka River in the municipality of Mavrovo-Rostuse, an Euro 2.1-million investment by the company "Hydro Energy Group".

"The hydro-power plant, with a capacity of 1.8 MWh, was built before expiration of the set deadlines and people are already being employed," Minister of Economy Valon Saraqini said during the visit to the new facility located in the vicinity of Tresonce village.

Of the total number of concession contracts, 17 small hydro-power stations have been constructed so far for which over 20 million euros have been invested, added Saraqini.

Additional 15 small hydro-power plants are being built at the moment. "Most of them are expected to be finished by the year's end and the rest in the beginning of 2014. They will enable better energy stability in Macedonia," the minister noted.

The company “Hydro Energy Group” has obtained concession to build two more small hydro-power stations in the municipality of Debarca.
