The Government has still not decided on an emergency wheat purchase, but this is not excluded as an option. The Government lets producers and distributors agree on the wheat purchase", said Government Spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgjiev at Tuesday's press conference.

"We are currently oriented on stimulating the market instruments and an agreement between the two sides. We are closely monitoring the situation and we will make additional moves if required", said Gjorgjiev.

According to him, the Government's task is to provide the legal framework and regulate the market, and not directly take part in the market.

"Our activities are focused on achieving intensive dialogue between wheat producers and distributors with regards to the offer and demand meeting point", added Gjorgjiev.

He urged all stakeholders to meet their contracting obligations, in the interest of wheat producers and distributors.
