The Government has been monitoring the economic developments in the region, Europe, across the globe and taking best possible measures to improve the situation in Macedonia, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Monday.

Better economic results are expected in the second half of this year, he said, pointing out that the Government would keep supporting the business sector by providing favorable loans.

"We have done a lot in terms of projects and reforms. We are in touch with the latest developments and promptly take measures where necessary. We have been doing our best in this respect and continue to do so by applying new ideas, measures. I hope that in the second half of this year the situation will improve within the EU as well and it will certanly bring favorable effect on us," Gruevski said.

He reminded that the Government had thus far provided several favorable loans of EUR100 million.

"A new one of EUR100m has been agreed in principle with an interest rate of 5.5% for all companies, Gruevski said, pointing out that the Government will keep supporting the enterprises to deal with the consequences of Europe's debt crisis.
