Environment Minister Ademi meets EEA officials

Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Abdilaqim Ademi met Wednesday with European Environment Agency (EEA) deputy-director Gordon McInnes, in the framework of the agency's regular visits to member-states and cooperating countries.

Republic of Macedonia has been an EEA cooperating country since 1998, the Environment Ministry said in a press release.

Minister Ademi welcomed EEA's continual support to Macedonia and the competent ministry, and also referred to current activities and IPA projects that help the candidate-countries and aspirant-states to prepare for EU membership.

Republic of Macedonia has regularly taken part in key reports and the annual programme of the EEA, which aims at timely and efficient informing of European nationals over the state and prospects of environment.

Ademi provided support to planned activities for enhancement of institutional capacities, highlighting Macedonia's commitment to be an active partner in the cooperation with European institutions and the continent's environmental agenda, reads the press release.
