Monograph on Tose Proeski Memorial House promoted

A year after its opening and over 150,000 visitors, the Tose Proeski Memorial House gets a monograph that describes and illustrates its content and stages of construction.

The editorial staff prepared the monograph for six months, setting a goal of making it a guideline to the contents of the facility dedicated to the great artist and man Tose Proeski.

The monograph was promoted Saturday by Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska in the Krusevo-based Memorial House.

"The Memorial House has become a spiritual shelter for all followers of Tose's life and work. The visitors, who want to acquaint with the source of his energy or the philosophies that guided him though life, have described the House as a place where Tose's memories are most valuable and most present. Tose Proeski's contribution to the new cultural history of the Republic of Macedonia is imposing, binding and inspiring for all, whereas the Memorial House is a gesture of humble gratitude from the people of Macedonia", stressed Kanceska-Milevska.

The event also include addresses by publication developers and house architects, as well as musical performances.

The monograph contains a short review of Macedonia's history, presentation of Krusevo's most significant traits, Tose's biography, followed by the architectural characteristics of the Memorial House and a portion of the museum display. Part of the monograph is dedicated to Tose's fans, whereas the edition is encircled by last year's award that the building won for best architectonic work at the World Architecture Festival in Barcelona. A total of 704 buildings, located across the globe, were competing for the award.

The Tose Proeski Memorial House opened on 25 April 2011.
