New medical equipment promoted in Bitola hospital

Premier Nikola Gruevski together with Minister of Health Nikola Todorov on Friday put into function a new medical equipment worth 3.5 million euros at the Clinical Hospital in Bitola.

"The Clinical Hospital in Bitola today undergoes a revolutionary improvement with the new equipment and its doctors have attended adequate trainings here and abroad. Such an equipment has been provided for the first time in the history of the hospital, which will serve the citizens of Bitola and its surrounding," PM Gruevski said.

A great step has been made, he added, even though some say its intention was solely political. "I'm glad that with the new equipment lives will be saved, because conditions have been created for doctors to treat many inhabitants of this region," Gruevski stated,

Minister Todorov said that today's event confirmed that the implementation of the government-led project on procuring new medical equipment for public health institutions across Macedonia was successful.

A magnetic resonance imaging - MRI, computed tomography (CT) and a lithotriptor were promoted at the Bitola hospital.

The overall investment into new medical equipment for the Clinical Hospital is worth over 5.5 million euro, thus being the biggest investment in equipment in its history.
