Labour Minister Spasov visits ILO international training centre in Turin

Macedonian Minister of Labour and Social Policy Dime Spasov pays Friday a visit to the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Turin, Italy.

Spasov met with the Director, International Training Centre of the ILO Yanguo Liu and Director of the ILO Office for Central and Eastern Europe Antonio Graziosi.

The Centre is global provider of trainings and programmes for government, organizations of workers and employers in the sphere of social dialogue, labour administration, employment and skills development, Labour Ministry said in a press release.

At the meeting Spasov informed that Macedonia continuously works on social dialogue and implements numerous employment measures and services intended to boost skills of unemployed persons. He also underlined that employees in the Ministry of the Labour and Social Welfare and Employment Agency need advanced training and this Centre provides training and related services that develop human resources and institutional capabilities.

They agreed to intensify cooperation in the following period which will include organizing labour market, health and safety at work, social dialogue of the employees in the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, State Labour Inspectorate and Employment Agency.

The International Labour Organization and the Italian Government established the International Training Centre in 1964 in Turin, Italy, as an advanced vocational training institute. It has since matured into a focal point for high-level in-service training. This takes place in Turin, in course participants' home countries or via the Internet.
