Prime Minister Dimitriev says 12 new regional roads will be built in investment worth 300 million EUR

Road investments in the current stage of infrastructure development amount to 510 kilometers of regional and national roads and 750 kilometers of local roads, said Prime Minister Emil Dimitriev, discussing the state of capital spending at the Parliament session for questions to Government members. Dimitriev said that all regions of the country have been covered with the infrastructure development program and 12 new regional roads are being planned for a total investment of 300 million EUR.

"We have begun reconstruction of the Kocani - Delcevo regional road, an investment of six million EUR that will help improve this 30 kilometer section, and work is expected to be done in up to 20 months. We have initiated the second stage of the Gradsko - Prilep express way worth 31,8 million EUR. The new projected regional roads will help connect Ohrid and Pestani, Stip with Kocani and Radovis, as well as Rankovce with Kriva Palanka" said Prime Minister Dimitriev.

A number of smaller, local roads are also expected to be of importance in new commercial developments, such as the road leading to the Sun City planned community on the east side of Mount Vodno near Skopje, or a road from Probistip to the Ponikva ski center and roads leading to the Sasa and Toranica mines. Prime Minister Dimitriev said that work continues on the Bitola - Resen - Bukovo regional road and on expanding the road between Veles and Kadrifakovo, which connects to the new Skopje - Stip highway.
