100 unemployed people to be trained to acquire advanced IT skills

All jobless people with certain IT skills who are willing to upgrade them and earn international certificates are invited to apply at a call for training for advanced IT skills.

The training is designed to help them get jobs in companies in Macedonia and abroad. Funds in amount of MKD eight million have been provided to send 100 unemployed individuals to the training.

Much of the companies on the labour market are seeking people with advanced IT skills and this measure can make this possible, said Minister of Labour and Social Policy Dime Spasov.

“We are offering six-month training for jobless people with advanced IT skills. They will also earn an international certificate, which will boost their chances of finding a job,” Minister Spasov told reporters Tuesday after visiting Semos Education training center, which is organizing trainings for Java programmers and Microsoft Web programmers.

The percentage of people who have found employment after completing the training is impressive, according to him. “Over 85% of those who are certified Java programmers are now employed.”

The trainings paves the way for finding a job very quickly at home and abroad, said Vlatko Popovski, director of the Employment Service Agency.

“By taking the exam, these people get the opportunity to be shortlisted on the list of experts of the training providers and thus having the chance to be contacted by international companies,” said Popovski adding that foreign investors in Macedonia were also looking for programmers.
