College of London prepared program will help revamp high school education

Eighty advisers from the Bureau for Development of Education spent the past several months training to promote active learning, creative teaching, critical thinking and the introduction of information technology in education. The program, prepared by the education institute in the University College London will be used to revamp high school education across Macedonia.

"We worked with 80 people who completed our training, and they will in turn train 7.000 teachers in Macedonia, using our methods. Our approach was focused on a model that presents how active teaching should take place in the classroom", said training organizer Eleanore Hargreaves.

Deputy Education Minister Spiro Ristovski said that the training program will help add critical thinking in the education process, and will go hand in hand with the implementation of the new teaching programs developed with the Cambridge University.

"In the coming months and years we will continue with this type of direct training with world renowned educational centers. We plan to intensify them to at least twice a year", Ristovski said.
