Skopje Fair hosts FINEXPO 2011

Vice-Premier and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski formally opened Tuesday the Fair of Finance and Business Opportunities - FINEXPO 2011, which brings together larger commercial banks, Public Revenue Office, insurance, investment and software companies.

Such events offer opportunity for identifying the difficulties in the business sector and presenting ideas for their surpassing, Stavreski said at the opening ceremony.

"Macedonia, as a small and open economy, is under powerful influence of global developments. However, it has managed to deal with the challenges of the global economic downturn and remained low-indebted country with stable, sound macroeconomic indicators," Stavreski said.

Macedonia's macroeconomic policy for the next year  is based on current situation in the country and projections of the economic trends in Europe, worldwide, he said.

Accelerating of the global economic growth and gradual strengthening of the investors' confidence are expected in the years to come, which should boost Macedonia's foreign trade and financial activities, he added.

The Ministry of Finance will keep monitoring the economic developments at home and in the wider region, doing its best to preserve the stability of public finances and the financial sector, Stavreski said.

This year FINEXPO, organized by the Skopje Fair under the auspices of the Ministry of Finance, will also offer numerous debates for  professionals who are associated with business services industry.
