Saudi investors interested in Macedonia

Saudi Arabia is market where the government presents conditions for doing business in Macedonia aimed at expanding the opportunities for attracting new investors and enhancing trade cooperation with other countries aside from Europe. Government delegation met forty businessmen who assessed investment opportunities as excellent and announced investments in several spheres.

Saudi Arabia is large market and country which has very high gross national income and we consider that it is adequate to make a visit and to present opportunities that Macedonia offers in the sphere of good business climate, low taxes and skilled workforce, Deputy PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski said.

Some of the present investors have already visited Macedonia and have favourable opinion for the country, however it is good once again to hold talks in regard to conditions for investment and realisation of their plans in Macedonia. The first day we met with 30 to 40 businessmen. The next couple of days we will hold business forums in several places aimed at presenting Macedonia’s business opportunities to Saudi Arabia investors, Stavreski said.

Khalid Al-Taweel, who is real estate, technological industry and construction businessman and executive manager of Leuron company highlighted his positive experiences from his last visit to Macedonia.

Business conditions in Macedonia are excellent one of the best I have seen, in regard to infrastructure, skilled workforces and friendly environment. Tax system is also excellent and I think that the government is making an excellent job in regard to creation of conditions to attract new investments. Compared to other regions for investment, the conditions are very good and the country is among the best to invest. I am very optimistic that the matters will be developing very well and there will be fast progress in the investment in the years that follow, Al-Taweel said.

We have a plan to expand our operations in 2015 and in 2016 in the spheres that cover human resources, real estate, tourism and construction, Al-Taweel said underlying that the plans are developing and expressed hope for their successful realisation.

Minister without Portfolio tasked with attracting foreign investments Visar Fida explained the meaning of the economic part of the visit and spoke about the sectors in which the investors showed interest.

We have met with officials of several companies in Riyadh. This country is interesting for us because it is one of the fastest-growing countries worldwide. The companies to which we have presented Macedonia’s investment opportunities showed interest in several spheres as infrastructure, agriculture and tourism, Fida said.
