Government organizes job fair in Strumica

The government of Macedonia on Nov. 25 is set to organize a job fair, where employers are expected to meet people who seek jobs and where an opportunity might arise to find an employment. Job fairs have been already organized in four cities through which 160 people have been employed.

“The job fair contains three components. Firstly, it is an opportunity to organize a meeting between potential workers, i.e. job-seekers with employers. A number of companies will be in attendance that are going to present information on what kind of staff they need to conduct businesses. On the other hand, all those actively looking for a job will have the chance to establish a direct contact and to share information and data that are significant in order to hired,” government spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgiev told a press conference on Friday.

As part of the second component, a forum will be organized with employers where institution officials will hold a meeting with representatives of companies located in the region of Strumica in order to hear their ideas, visions, views and suggestions involving the new operational plan on active employment measures, set to enter into force in 2015.

The fair’s third component offers motivational trainings where potential workers will have the opportunity to hear direct testimonies, successful stories of jobless people who have used the government’s operational measures to find an employment.

So far, nearly fifty companies in the region of Strumica have confirmed their participation in the fair.

“We urge jobless people actively looking for an employment in this region to visit the fair, see what the employers require and determine whether they fall in a certain category of the conditions required by a company,” Gjorgiev said.

Job fairs so far have been organized in Skopje, Negotino, Stip and Ohrid. After organizing the Strumica fair, the government is expected to schedule another one in Bitola.

160 people have found employment at the fairs, according to data of the Employment Agency.
