Minister of Transport and Communications Mile Janakieski, Director of the Public Enterprise for State Roads Ljupco Georgievski and mayors of Sveti Nikole, Stip and Lozovo, Zoran Tasev, Ilco Zahariev and Orce Cvetkovski respectively inspected Thursday the construction works of Veles – Kadrifakovo road.

The third phase of the road at length of 10.9 kilometers amounting to €7.5 million should be completed in 18 months i.e. by April 2016. Janakieski pointed out if weather conditions allow it may be finished earlier by end of 2015.

He said that the first section is already finished, the second one to Lozovo is 30% completed and the third section all land works are 90% completed.

This road section we expect to be completed by September or October 2015 if weather conditions allow, Janakieski said.

He said the construction works of the third phase of the road started today which the final section from Veles – Kadrifakovo road including the road to Lozovo via Saramzalino to Kadrifakovo.

He underlined that this investment is very important for the eastern region of Macedonia reminding that Skopje – Stip highway is being constructed in parallel.

In November we should provide financial means for construction of road from Stip to Kocani which entering final phase of projecting and the construction should start next year, Janakieski.

Director of the Public Enterprise for State Roads Ljupco Georgievski said that the entire investment i.e. Veles – Kadrifakovo road amounts €15 million, funds provided by the Government from the loan of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
