Gruevski: Heritage Foundation report - a recommendation for investors

In connection to the 2014 Index of Economic Freedom by the Heritage Foundation, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski stated Tuesday it is an excellent recommendation for both local and foreign investors and for all those willing to run a business in Macedonia with local companies as well.

“I must conclude that we have reasons to be satisfied with the period governed by the current political party in power. A progress was made climbing from the 96th up to the 43rd place in the world meaning an improvement of 53 spots was made. This is excellent. Not only Macedonia made this breakthrough in such a short period of time, but we also have the best-ranking position compared with all the countries in it,” PM Gruevski said speaking to reporters at a promotion of translated vocational books.

Macedonia is positioned better than the neighbouring countries – Slovenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Albania, according to him.

“It is an excellent recommendation for investors, both local and foreign ones, and for all those interested in running a business in Macedonia and with Macedonian companies. It is in a way the result of all those measures taken recently. It doesn’t come by chance; it is the result of hard work, good organization and efforts. The report in a way is reflected in the reality,” stated Gruevski.

Macedonia has made progress in the Heritage Foundation’s Index of Economic Freedom and it is the highest ranking country in the region according to the Cato Institute.
