A sports field with an acrylic base opened in Gjorce Petrov municipality on Sunday, in the attendance of Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, Youth and Sports Agency Marjan Spaseski and Mayor Sokol Mitrovski.

PM Gruevski said the field can be used for football, basketball, handball and other sports.

"The field is build in line with global standards, whereas the acrylic base contributes to its longevity. Lights have also been mounted for the field's evening use", he added.

The investment is worth about MKD 6,6 million (EUR 110,000).

Agency director Spaseski said success in sports was tied to the training conditions and infrastructure development.

"The continual construction of 35 sports halls, 50 football pitches, 100 multifunctional playgrounds and 120 tennis courts in all municipalities demonstrate the Government's commitment to the development of sport and healthy lifestyle", stressed Spaseski.
