New 110kv overhead transmission line in Bitola nears completion

The Electricity Transmission System Operator of Macedonia (MEPSO) is completing its activities to inaugurate the new double circuit 110kv overhead transmission line from Bitola 3 to Bitola 4 substations.

By installing this investment - estimated at 2.4 million euros - in a ring circuit, all four substations will be connected included in the transmission network in the region of Bitola, thus lowering the risk of outages in the future, it was concluded Thursday by Deputy PM Valdimir Pesevski and MEPSO CEO Sinisa Spasov while visiting the new transmission line.

"The objective of the new double circuit 110kv transmission line, which is expected to be completed by early September, is to boost voltage condition and to enhance the safety of power supply in the Pelagonija region," Pesevski stated.

The Macedonian government, he added, has major investment plans and projects aimed at constructing and revitalizing the energy infrastructure. "In addition to this one, it is also intensively being worked on the realization of 400 kv inter-connective transmission lines Stip-Nis and Bitola-Elbasan, the construction of a double circuit 110kv transmission line of steel poles Vrutok HPP and Tetovo 2, the project rehabilitating and modernizing the electrical transmission network and on an array of other projects focused on improving the infrastructure of Macedonia's energy sector," the Deputy PM noted.
