Forty-three percent of the Miladinovci-Stip motorway have been already broken through since the start of construction works five months ago.

"About 250 workers are engaged, along with over 130 construction machines. The machinery will double by the end of August, meaning the number of workers will also increase, said Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski during Wednesday's check of the progress in the construction of "Goce Delcev" motorway.

The EUR 208 million project for construction of the 47km motorway is to be completed in three years.

Chinese company "Sinohydro Corporation Ltd" is the motorway contractor.

Miladinovci-Sveti Nikole-Stip motorway is one of the three motorways to be constructed in the country over the coming period. The other two are Kicevo-Ohrid and Demir Kapija-Smokvica.
