Police seize marijuana, arrest three

The Ministry of Interior has broken an international narcotics ring from Albania, arresting three Macedonian nationals, two of whom are police officers, and seizing about 300kg of marijuana.

Minister Gordana Jankuloska said at Tuesday's press conference the marijuana, worth US$1-2 million, was intended for the Western Europe black market.

The two arrested police officers working at crossing Strezimir on the Macedonia-Albania border facilitated the drugs transport.

The detained individuals will be charged with illicit production and distribution of narcotics, psychotropic substances and precursors.
