US Ambassador Wohlers meets Minister Ivo Ivanovski

US Ambassador Paul Wohlers visited Monday the Ministry of Information Society and Administration for talks with Minister Ivo Ivanovski regarding the ongoing cooperation which is successfully being realised first and foremost through projects backed by theUnited States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Speaking to reporters, Minister Ivanovski said he was content with the cooperation expressing hopes that it would be resumed with new projects stemming from reforms within the administration.

"The Ministry has had an excellent cooperation with the US embassy through the USAID-backed project E-Gov. We are very satisfied with the cooperation all of these years and we've asked the Ambassador to strengthen it, because in our opinion everything that has been funded by the embassy was implemented in excellent way. The Ministry and the Government continue to upgrade these projects," Ivanovski said.

Some of these projects include the system for electronic public procurement, the EXIM system for processing of customs declarations, the system for electronic job applications...

Ambassador Wohlers also praised the cooperation established through USAID projects. He said that talks focused on Ministry's responsibilities, public administration and information technologies, which "are of great importance today in modern governments."

"If you have a well-trained, well-paid and efficient administration, you will be more able to satisfy the needs of citizens. If all of this is achieved with the advantages of modern technologies, then it will be done in a better way... We are satisfied that the embassy and USAID were involved successfully in several projects, such as e-procurement, e-hiring, training of teachers. We are looking forward to continuing the successful cooperation in the future, Ambassador Wohlers stressed.
