Over 4,000 people to be employed through government programs

Over 9,000 people will be covered by governmental programs aimed at reducing the unemployment rate. Of those, more than 4,000 will be direct employments. The self-employment program has been proven to be the most effective after 5,806 persons have been financially supported to start a business.

The call for the 2014 program is issued Monday referring to 950 people.

“I encourage all unemployed people registered as active job seekers, who have business ideas and who want to find employment through a financial assistance provided by the self-employment program, to take this opportunity. This self-employment measure is an excellent chance to realize one’s vision, start up a business and achieve success thus opening new jobs and making profits,” Minister of Labour and Social Policy Dime Spasov said.

The governmental programs last year covered 9,000 people resulting in 4,000 employments, according to Spasov saying it was a solid result.

The measures give priority to socially vulnerable citizens, long-term jobless individuals and people aged up to 29 years.
