Government supports 1,540 new jobs

A total of 1,540 recorded unemployed people have a chance to find jobs with four measures taken by the government and incorporated into the 2013 Operational Employment Plan.

The measures envisage employment subsidies, subsidies for hiring orphans, training by a renowned employer and training by a renowned employer with subsidies, which will be supported by the government with 72.2 million denars.

Published on Monday, employment ads run till March 1 inviting all interested jobless people to apply as well as the companies that want to hire them.

"500 jobless people are envisaged to be covered with the first measure for employment subsidies. Of those, 80 people are from vulnerable groups who find it difficult to get into the labour market. Others will also include victims of domestic violence, parentless children, homeless people, single parents, etc. The employer will be paid a fee in order to cover the costs," Minister of Labour and Social Policy Spiro Ristovski told a news conference on Monday.

Under the second measure, he added, people who grew up without parental care will be hired by subsidising their employment in private firms.

With the third measure, it is planned 850 jobless people aged 25 to 49 years to be hired and trained by a renowned employer.

The fourth measure envisages the employment of 170 people to be subsidized. They include people aged 50-59 years, young people under 29 years with high school diploma, hailing from smaller ethnic communities and people in social risk.

"These measures are yielding results, which is apparent from the fact that 65% of those who have been hired with these measures are now permanently employed," the director of the Employment Agency, Vlatko Poposki stated.
