Economy Minister Saraqini meets USAID Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia

Economy Minister Valon Saraqini met Thursday in Washington with USAID Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia Paige Alexander.

Macedonia seeks USAID support to improve the competitiveness of its private sector, development of small and medium enterprises, obtain sustainable economic development, more investments, better export promotion, public-private dialogue, business-science cooperation, Saraqini told Paige.

"Macedonia has adopted numerous strategic documents that set the development frame. But the country welcomes a support for their implementation, applying of best policies and measures that clearly define the vision for development," Saraqini said.

Saraqini and Paige expressed satisfaction with the successful, long-lasting cooperation and joint projects that contributed to Macedonia's economic development. The country's progress in improving the business climate and private sector competitiveness is also recognized by the World Bank's 'Doing Business' report, World Economic Forum and other international institutions, the Ministry of Economy said in a press release.
