PM: Macedonian doctors to be trained in Texas Medical Center

Doctors from Macedonia will be educated in the Texas Medical Center, best known for its top treatment of patients with heart diseases. Under an agreement made during PM Nikola Gruevski's visit to the center, doctors from the Houston hospital will come to Macedonia to train Macedonian doctors.

A cooperation memorandum is expected to be signed in April next year with the first group to leave in May, PM Gruevski said.

Moreover, the medical center also expressed interest in opening a children's state heart surgery unit in Macedonia, where a doctor from the center would perform surgeries several times a year.

The Texas Medical Center is the largest medical center in the world receiving 160,000 daily visitors and over six million annual patient visits, including over 18,000 international patients.

"In addition to my mission to encourage investors to come in Macedonia, I also make efforts to provide trainings for Macedonian doctors in the most prestigious medical centers in the US and American doctors to visit Macedonia," PM Gruevski noted.
