PM Gruevski meets Albania's President Topi

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and Albania's President Bamir Topi expressed satisfaction Thursday in Skopje with the intensive political dialogue between the two countries, which adds new quality, dynamics to advancing the good-neighborly relations.

Reaffirming Macedonia's strategic foreign policy priorities - the EU and NATO membership, Gruevski briefed the high guest about the country's activities to that effect.

Gruevski and Topi expressed their regret over the multiple murder near Smiljkovci village, saying that the relevant institutions should work on disclosing and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The two also agreed on the need of bolstering the economic cooperation, taking into account the possible challenges deriving from Europe's debt crisis. They also referred to the need of road, rail Macedonia-Albania interconnection within the Corridor VIII project.

The two countries, they concluded, should keep supporting each other and cooperate in the European, Euro-Atlantic integration processes, which will contribute to further stabilization and development of the entire region.
