Gruevski expects Papademos to accept his invitation for a meeting

Direct talks on several levels and constructive discussions on Macedonia-Greece name dispute will help both countries, while final decisions on the matter are to be made under the UN auspice, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said Friday, refuting some Greek media claims that his invitation for a meeting with Lucas Papademos was a trick.

"I hope that the Prime Minister and his associates have nothing to do with those media claims and will accept the invitation for a meeting," Gruevski said.

Macedonia, he said, makes efforts to realize its goals,  wishes to normalize the relations and resolve the name issue in order to join NATO and the European Union, Gruevski said, pointing out that Skopje is committed to nourishing good ties with all neighbours, including Greece.
