FM Poposki meets Turkish deputies

Foreign Affairs Minister Nikola Poposki met Wednesday with a delegation of the Turkish-Macedonian Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, which is paying a visit to Macedonia.

At the meeting, the successful development of bilateral relations and cooperation was praised, most notably the cooperation between the Macedonian and Turkish parliaments. The Macedonian-Turkish cooperation in various fields at bilateral, regional and multilateral level was assessed as being very productive and useful for both sides.

Minister Poposki briefed the guests about the current situation in Macedonia and its efforts made on the road to EU and NATO integration following the recently delivered judgement of the International Court of Justice.

Chairman of the Turkish parliamentary group, Hüseyin Bürge presented the current situation in Turkey and ongoing activities related to an initiative on adopting new Turkish constitution aimed at democratizing the country.

Views were exchanged at the meeting about the situation in the region and beyond.
