Macedonia's top officials attend Christmas liturgy

President Gjorge Ivanov, Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanoski and Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski attended Saturday at the 'St Clement of Ohrid' Church in Skopje the Christmas liturgy, led by the Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia, HH Stefan.

Extending Christmas greetings  to all Orthodox believers, the President, Parliament Speaker and PM wished them good health, happiness, success and peace of mind.

Let's have more wisdom, tranquility in these hard days of global economic crisis and find a way to surpass the problems, Gruevski said.

"Let's be united whole year as we are during the holidays and welcome the next Christmas," Ivanov said.

Veljanoski on his part wished for Macedonia to have prosperity and finally get everything it deserved for its efforts thus far.

HH Sefan and members of the Macedonian Orthodox Church (MPC) Holy Synod also sent Christmas greetings to all faithful, wishing them peace and God's blessing.

Christmas liturgies have been served today in all MPC churches at home and abroad.
