Government adopts 2012 NPAA

The Government adopted late Thursday the 2012 National Programme for the Adoption of the Acquis (NPAA).

NPAA represents the crucial document in the EU integration process, reflecting the dynamics of national legislation harmonization with the Acquis, as well as harmonization of national institution with European administrative structures. NPAA unifies all documents, providing a comprehensive overview of reforms, harmonization of legislation, administrative structures required for implementation of legislation, as well as required financial resources.

All ministries and other state administration bodies take part in the NPAA development within their scope of operations. When developing the 2012 NPAA, the Government took into consideration recommendations and remarks of the European Commission in the recent Progress Report on Macedonia.

The 2012 NPAA will be forwarded to the Parliament in the course of next week, followed by its presentation before the civil sector. Moreover, the 2012 NPAA translated version will be submitted to the European Commission in the course of January, the Government said in a press release.
