Stavreski: high 2015 growth indicates 2016 will be a good year for the economy

Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski said that the economic data released this week are good indicators that 2016 will also be a great year for the economy. Macedonia ended 2015 with a growth rate of 3,7 percent, industrial growth of 8 percent and another all time low in unemployment. at 24.6 percent.

"The latest data from 2015 shows a growth rate of 3,9 percent in the last quarter of the year, which is above our expectations. The overall growth rate for the year is 3,7 percent, and which is also above the expectations of both the Government and the general expectations. Based on this, we can expect that 2016 will also be a successful year. This is confirmed by the industrial growth rate of 8 percent", Minister Stavreski said in an interview with Sitel TV.

Stavreski, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister for economic issues. said that the economic results were accomplished despite the difficult political situation. According to Stavreski, the results are due to the solid economic policies laid out by the Government, that enable setting up of both domestic and foreign businesses in Macedonia and creating new jobs.
