Macedonia's caretaker Prime Minister Emil Dimitriev and Robert Berschinski, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, expressed satisfaction Monday in Skopje with the bilateral relations, based on friendship and cooperation in all spheres of mutual interest.

They also voiced commitment to advancing both the political and economic cooperation.

Underlying the significance of organizing fair, credible and democratic elections, Dimitriev and Berschinski called on all political parties to work on restoring the citizens' trust in the election process.

The Government, Dimitriev said, is committed to meet the requests of the State Election Commission for organizing the elections on 24 April. He pointed out that existing media law, drafted in cooperation with the European Commission, was good. However, if political parties come to an agreement that the bill should be amended, the Government will accept any media law of whichever EU state.
