India's BRG Group to invest EUR 31m in Macedonia, open 1,000 jobs

Macedonia's Government and Indian metal products manufacturer BRG Group signed an agreement Tuesday in Veles on the company's investment in restarting of former 'Porcelanka' factory.

BRG Group is set to invest EUR 31 million and open 1,000 jobs under its plan for the next few years.

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski attended the agreement signing ceremony.

BRG Group is one of the largest and fast-growing metal products manufacturer in the world and its entrance in Macedonia will revive the former factory, Gruevski said at the ceremony.

This investment is a result of the Government's efforts to restore as many as possible of the old factories being closed during the transition period, Gruevski said.

Now 'Porcelanka' is getting new owner, a very powerful company that brings new machines, knowhow and intends to employ 1,000 workers from Veles and its surrounding, he added.

India’s BRG Group will manufacture steel kitchenware in Macedonia and export its output to other countries in Europe.
