Fifty new titles of edition "Stars of World Literature" were promoted in Skopje on Sunday.

The project, which encompasses the translation of 560 works by world-renowned authors, nears completion, with only 37 titles left for promotion.

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said the project demonstrated there are people in Macedonia who dream, plan, act and believe.

"Somewhere in 2009 the project was just an idea, preparations began in 2011, whereas the first promotion was held in 2012. At the onset of 2016 we are nearing its completion", stressed Gruevski.

Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska said the project showed the commitment to creating a cultural environment in Macedonia, where true values are clearly perceived.

"Stars of World Literature is a paradigm of the enhancement of our social horizons, an opportunity to get insight into the global creative aesthetic in different contexts, different periods, and different parts of the world", she added.
