Agriculture ministry holds open days in eastern Macedonia

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management organized Saturday an "Open Day" event in Stip and Lozovo, municipalities in eastern Macedonia.

Citizens had the chance to meet the minister of agriculture, Ljupco Dimovski, and his deputy Zoran Konjanovski as well as heads of sectors at the ministry's regional unit in Stip.

Minister Dimovski said the "Open Day" event, organized for the fourth time, aimed to offer a platform to farmers to present the issues they were facing.

"Farmers will point out their difficulties and issues and our tasks is to try and solve the problem," Dimovski stated.

He added that farmers mostly complained in relation to subsidies, distribution of agricultural land. "Most of these issues can be resolved," the minister noted.

Dimovski said that the Ministry was making intensive preparations to tackle consequences from the drought, which has gripped Macedonia.
