New domestic investment worth €6.5 million opens in Ilinden municipality

The new plant for croissant production “Grand Food Corporation” worth €6.5 million has been opened Wednesday in Ilinden municipality in Skopje.

Company’s owners, Deputy PM and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski and mayor of Ilinden municipality Zika Stojanovski marked the plant’s official start.

Stavreski at the opening ceremony said that the goal both of the central and local authority is to support such successful businesses underlying that the government works on creating favourable business climate.

The new investment will open 90 new jobs, Stavreski said adding that such family businesses are creators of the largest number of jobs.

Stojanovski said that this is one of the largest investments in Ilinden municipality contributing to local economic development and opening new jobs.

The owner and founder of Grand Export from Skopje, Stojmen Jordanovski said that the beginnings of this successful family owned business started 25 years ago thus expressing satisfaction that their vision became reality.

CEO of “Grand Food Corporation” Goran Jordanovski stressed that it is own investment and according to the installed capacity is the largest plant for production of croissants in this part of Europe.

The plant featuring modern technology covers an area of 6,000 square meters and the production will be destined for the Macedonian market, neighbouring countries and the EU.
