FK Vardar professional training center opens

The professional training center of Vardar football club opened on Saturday. The project, worth EUR 4 million, has been realized by way of public-private partnership of Vardar owner Sergey Samsonenko, the City of Skopje and Gazi Baba municipality.

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski addressed the center opening, saying this is the first facility of this type in Macedonia, similar to those of European big clubs.

"The Government has supported the project by providing the land at which the center has been constructed", stressed PM Gruevski.

FK Vardar owner Samsonenko voiced his satisfaction from the cooperation with the administration in the project's realization.

"We are going step by step. The first facility we built was sports complex 'Jane Sandanski', the home of our two handball clubs. The next step was to provide the football club with a facility that meets the highest European training standards", said Samsonenko.

The training center includes two football pitches, as well as a complex for accommodation of players and a fitness center.
