Government to fund construction of three new student dorms

The Government will invest in the construction of three dormitories, instead of one as initially announced. Two dorms will be built in Skopje, said PM Nikola Gruevski on Saturday answering a journalist question.

“Most likely two dorms will be built in Skopje. The first one will replace abandoned barracks, used before as student accommodation, with a planned capacity for 350-400 beds and including a sports hall, a library, etc,” said Gruevski adding that the second dorm, with a capacity for 500 students, would be located near Boris Trajkovski Sports Center in Skopje.

If everything goes according to plan, a call for construction will be issued in September or October 2016 at the latest, while construction works could be finished by late 2017 or early 2018, according to the PM.

Also, it has been estimated that another dorm should be built in the vicinity of the Tetovo State University.
