Vice Premier Arifi meets US State Secretary Clinton

In the framework of the United States visit, Vice Premier for European Affairs Teuta Arifi met Thursday with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, focusing on the excellent cooperation between the two countries.

Arifi briefed Clinton on the political-security situation in Macedonia and the region, the Secretariat for European Affairs.

Vice Premier Arifi also met with former US Secretary of State and National Democratic Institute (NDI) chairperson Madeleine Albright, referring to regional developments and future opportunities for Western Balkan countries regarding their Euro-Atlantic integration. In addition, Arifi met with Vice Admiral Carol M. Pottenger, NATO Deputy Chief of Staff at the Capability Development Department.

In the course of the U.S. visit, Vice Premier Arifi is set to hold talks with U.S. Assistant Secretary for Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Gordon, and US congressmen.

Moreover, Arifi will deliver a lecture at the School of Advanced International Studies within Washington-based Johns Hopkins University.

The Macedonian Vice Premier attended conference titled "The Women in Public Service Project", held at the State Department.
