Railway infrastructure being improved across Macedonia

The Prilep Railway Station alongside the Railway Station in Skopje will be entirely overhauled by the year’s end, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters Tuesday in Prilep.

“The Veles Railway Station is also being reconstructed at the moment. Other railway stations on Corridor X are set to be renovated in the coming weeks and their complete reconstruction is expected to end in 2016,” Gruevski stated while overseeing construction works at the Prilep Railway Station together with Minister of Transport and Communications Vlado Misajlovski.

The Premier said he was content with how the railway station was being reconstructed. Its reconstruction is part of a EUR 2.5 million investment intended for the overhaul of almost all railway stations on Corridor X.

This is the first thorough reconstruction of the Prilep Railway Station after being built in 1931.
