Gruevski-Daul: EPP president supports Macedonia's EU integration progress

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski met Tuesday in Brussels with European People's Party (EPP) president Joseph Daul, who voiced support to Macedonia's integration in EU and NATO.

"We discussed a number of topics, including our efforts to obtain a date for the start of EU accession talks. I also briefed him on to the current developments in Macedonia. Of course, all of Macedonia's friends want the situation solved as soon as possible, so that the country can make progress in its efforts to launch the EU accession talks", said PM Gruevski after the meeting.

Later today, Gruevski is set to attend a meeting of Western Balkans prime ministers with EU enlargement and transport commissioners, Johannes Hahn and Violeta Bulc respectively. The meeting aims at discussing the integration of the land, river and air traffic on the Balkans within the European core transport network, as well as investment cooperation and support by the Union in specific infrastructure projects of importance for the region.

The prime ministers of Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania and Kosovo will be presented with concrete projects proposals.

PM Gruevski is accompanied by Vice Premier for Economic Affairs Vladimir Pesevski, Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki, and Minister of Transport and Communications Mile Janakieski.
