New modern beaches on Lake Prespa by early summer

Two new 600-meter modern beaches on the coast of Lake Prespa will be set up by mid-June.

Minister of Transport and Communications Mile Janakieski and officials of the Resen local self-government attended Thursday an event marking the start of construction works near Stenje settlement in southwestern Macedonia.

The MKD 77-million investment is expected to contribute to tourism revival in the region of Prespa.

The beaches will feature handball, football and badminton courts, bars, etc. They are expected to be equally attractive for local and foreign guests, according to Janakieski.

“Following decades of stagnation, attempts have been already made to boost tourism in Prespa as a new branch, which is expected to be the leading one with regards to economic development in this region,” Resen mayor Gjoko Strezovski stated.

In addition to the beaches, investments will be also made in the reconstruction of regional roads, it was announced.
