Construction of Kicevo-Ohrid motorway according to plan: PM

Construction works on the Kicevo-Ohrid motorway are going according to plans, with a quarter of the 60km-long, EUR 374 million-worth route already broken through, said Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski on Sunday.

"A vast majority of the workers come from Macedonian companies and the current number of 600 will increase in the future. Activities over opening of the 2km-long Preseka tunnel have also been launched", PM Gruevski told reporters after the opening of a sports hall in Plasnica municipality.

He said a call for concession of the Kicevo-Gostivar motorway section would be released next month.

"I believe the call will be successful, thus encircling the motorway section of Corridor 8", underlined Gruevski.
