1,000 state-owned business offices in Macedonia offered for sale

100 state-owned business offices, located in 19 cities across Macedonia, will be offered for sale via online public bidding at an announcement set to be issued tomorrow. The premises covering an area of 7,253 square meters have an initial estimated value of over MKD 300 million.

The announcement, scheduled to run 30 days, launches a procedure for selling a total of 1,000 state-owned business offices following a decision reached by the government upon a request by the business community.

“By selling state-owned business premises to the private sector we believe that an additional incentive will be given for its development and in fact we also offer better opportunities and conditions in general to improve the business climate,” government spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgiev told a press conference on Wednesday.

Most of the state business offices offered in the upcoming announcement are located in Skopje (22), followed by Kicevo (11), Kumanovo (9), Tetovo and Bitola (8), Stip (7),…

Domestic and foreign legal entities and physical entities are invited to file an application to take part in public biddings. The entity that will offer the highest bid will acquire the right to buy the premises.

In the coming period, other state-owned business offices will be selected and offered for sale, the spokesman announced.
