This year's active programmes and measures to enable 6,000 employments

A competition announced Tuesday for self-employment launched the implementation of government's sixth operational plan for active employment programmes and measures for 2012-2013. The operational plan will encompass 6,000 jobless people in 2012 for which nearly 500 million denars have been provided.

"24 target groups have been defined by the two-year plan offering a chance every unemployed individual to apply for a certain programme depending on the opportunities and conditions," Minister of Labour and Social Policy Spiro Ristovski told a press conference on Tuesday.

In addition to employment programmes and measures that have showed excellent results, the plan contains several pilot programmes created in line with requirements expressed by unemployed people, employers or findings stemming from the labour market.

Speaking at the press conference, Minister Ristovski said that 80,000 new employments were realised in 2011 and that the number of jobless people was more than 280,000.
